American artist Elijah King is the winner of the SuperSong

The American artist Elijah King is the winner of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ SuperSong competition. Following the recent announcement that Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte will record the Official Song for the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, Elijah’s track ‘Vida’ is the second song confirmed to be included on the Official Album – and will be performed by global superstar Ricky Martin.
Earlier in December 2013 FIFA with partnership with Sony launched The world-wide music contest and invited musicians footballer fans to bring their inspiration and submit videos of original song proposals, to support the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ hosted in Brazil this year.

“I would like to personally congratulate Elijah King along with his fellow finalists in this exciting competition,” said FIFA’s Marketing Director Thierry Weil.  “Each artist produced a track that was unique to their individual talents but expressed a strong passion for football. By developing this competition, Sony is giving aspiring songwriters and artists a once in a lifetime opportunity while adding new sounds to the rhythm of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.”

The winner have been choosen by Ricky Martin and the SuperSong judging panel, from five participations having been shortlisted at the end of January. You can have an idea about the shortlisted songs on FIFATV’s YouTube channel.
